Wildtrak Blue

Now this is one that we are really proud of. What we refer to as the Ford Ranger Wildtrak Blue was wholly generated out of customer demand. We were constantly asked by customers for a ‘blue’ Wildtrak. In fact if you look at Google search terms there are even people that google ‘Blue Wildtrak’. But Ford doesn’t produce a Wildtrak in Performance Blue. The Wildtrak only comes in Panther Black, Sea Grey, Moondust Silver, Pride Orange or Frozen White. There are other colours in the Ranger brochure but not in the Wildtrak.

One of the other things we are often asked for is a Wildtrak with full leather. We all know that the half-leather orange interior is fairly marmite. It looks great when coupled with the orange stitching on the dash and doors but it can be too much for some. Changing the interior leather is costly but if we can start with factory leather…
Anyway, that wasn’t going to stop the White Hot design department from satisfying a need. Obviously if you are going to mimic the Wildtrak then you need to start with the right vehicle. That means it needs to be a Ranger Limited 3.2 200ps auto with Sat Nav and Reverse Camera, front parking sensors and a factory tow bar. The base specification is therefore the same as the Wildtrak in terms of transmission, drivetrain, standard options and ‘must have’ options.
We then set about removing all the chrome, which is the signature of the Limited vehicle. That means bumpers, door handles, wing mirrors, front grill, badges and everything. We sourced all the parts to replace them with…not an easy task as many have a lengthy lead time. There are nuances on these vehicles that you don’t even notice until you get stuck in. For example you can’t just change the chrome grill for the grey one, you have to remove the whole underbody and grill and replace it. Even the window trims have to be changed.

The standard alloys with the Limited are 17” and don’t really do justice to the size of the vehicle. Obviously we needed to upgrade to the 18” Wildtrak diamond cut alloys.

And the finished article is a Performance Blue Wildtrak with full leather. And we can do this with any Ranger. If you want a Colorado Red Wildtrak then just let us know.
